Sweeter Things: December 2010

Merry Christmas!

This is the first (we hope annual) Christmas letter from the Burnetts! We’ve had an amazing year and hope that you have too.

Travis loves working at Life Outreach International (LOI) with James and Betty Robison. He’s been at LOI for almost 5 years and really enjoys working with the LIFE donors. In his free time, he stays busy playing golf and working in "his" garage.

Stacy celebrated her 7th year working at Gateway Church as a Creative Director in the Media Department and loves every minute of it! The media team has worked on some really exciting projects this year, and she’s just blessed and honored to be part of what God’s doing at Gateway. When she's not working, she's busy writing blogs for Destiny In Bloom, editing freelance projects, reading the latest suspense novel or biography, taking pictures, watching HGTV, bike riding, watching movies and staying caught up on Facebook!

This is the second year we led a Gateway Group as a couple, and we loved it! We've really grown as a group and have gotten to know some amazing people. Best of all, our neighbors come to our group. It's been wonderful getting to know them better.

We also found some time to travel this year. We took our annual family vacation to Gulf Shores in September. When we got back, our time was filled with baseball playoffs. We were beyond excited when the Texas Rangers made it to the World Series. It was so much fun (and a dream come true) to get to go to all of the playoff games!

November 25 (Thanksgiving Day) was our four-year anniversary, and we decided to celebrate by going on a Caribbean cruise. We went to Princess Cays (a private island), St. Maartin, St. Thomas (our favorite!) and Grand Turk. It was one of the best trips we’ve ever been on! We both came home extremely relaxed.

Jack Bower had an adventurous year. He spent most of his days chasing squirrels and birds and finding a comfortable place to nap. He played with his BFF Molly Joy. He also had his first teeth cleaning, and he did not like it! His momma told him to get over it! He still remains as prissy as ever and one of the most spoiled rotten dogs on the planet!

As we take time during this busy season to reflect on Jesus’ birth, we find ourselves so thankful for all that he has done for us this year. We pray that you and your family find peace and love during this holiday season and all year long.
